Alternative schools are often among the last to be given the go-ahead to hire. Our schools often have to wait for the rest of the district to settle hiring matters and then find ourselves scrambling "high and dry" (at the last minute) to hire.

1. Provide state level advocacy for Alternative Education
2. Implementation of MAEO Newsletter
3. Continued Membership Mapping to create a map of Alternative Schools in Michigan
4. Initiate a mini-grant program for Michigan Alternative Schools
5. Develop and launch the initial phase of a micro-credentialing badge system to recognize and validate alternative education best practices,
with pilot implementation at the 2026 annual MAEO conference.
