MAEO Offers various awards and scholarships to Alternative Students, Educators and Schools. Please see the drop down for information on applying for or nominating someone for an award or scholarship! We are excited to announce a new MAEO mini-grant application that will be coming in the Fall of 2024.
Award Winner Testimonials and Use of Funds!
Alternative schools are often misunderstood. We are known as "the school for the bad kids." The Michigan Alternative Education Organization has given our program meaning through all of the support this organization offers. For our program, receiving these awards gives our program credibility in the community. The award money will be used for our Life Skills class in ordering supplies for the upcoming school year. Our Life Skills class is associated with Jobs for Michigan Graduates and will help students with every day competencies to be successful in the work world and in their personal lives. We will use the funds to support such competencies as Personal Wellness/Hygiene, Career Planning, Consumer Awareness (personal finance, money management), and Practical Living (clothes management, car management, cooking).
